Partial renovation and soft furnishings project.
DESIGN
This is the first renovation that the clients have completed in Singapore. They wanted the apartment to be cosy, colourful, layered and playful. The apartment design is very much a reflection of their personalities and caters to how they like to live. The kitchen area is extremely compact so we had to consider our use of space very carefully. We created a small wet and dry kitchen, so that during times of heavy duty cooking the wet kitchen could be closed off using a custom made brass and reeded glass door, therefore protecting the open plan living area. Owing to Singapore’s climate, we tend to tile the entirety of the bathrooms. To achieve happy and cosy bathroom spaces, we used an array of finishes and colours, such as Moroccan floor tiles and hand painted wall tiles in the primary bathroom’s shower. All of these tiles were custom made, which added lovely textures to the walls and floor, whilst eliminating any air of sterility in these areas.
