Partial Renovation and Soft Furnishings Project
DESIGN
This is the first renovation the clients have completed in Singapore. They wanted the apartment to be cosy, colourful, layered and playful. The apartment is a real reflection of their personalities and how they live. The kitchen area is very small so we had to be incredibly careful about our use of space here, there is a small wet and dry kitchen, meaning that if there is heavy duty cooking going on they can close off the wet kitchen by closing the custom made brass and reeded glass door we had made so that it doesn’t effect the open plan living area. In Singapore, due to the climate, we tend to tile the entire bathroom – to make the bathrooms happy and cosy spaces we used an array of finishes and colours with custom tiles from Morocco on the floors, hand painted tiles on the shower wall in the primary bathroom, all of the tiles are hand made which means there is a lovely texture to the walls and floor so the areas feels less sterile.
