SCOPE
This project was a light renovation of a colonial black & white house in Singapore. As a leased property, the challenge was to modernise and uplift without undertaking major renovation. The major works were renovating the very old and dated bathrooms, along with building a new attap veranda to provide outdoor dining and seating to one side of the house. We also built a new swimming pool with an outdoor bar. The rest of the interior of the house was kept as-is.
DESIGN
The house has a colonial feel, which we wanted to retain and embraced with the soft furnishings. The house has a very layered and eclectic feel, reflecting the owners’ lifestyle and travels. This was achieved by deploying antique textiles, a collection of vintage and antique art and objects, and mixing periods and styles in a comfortable, relaxed manner.
