SCOPE
This project entailed a light renovation of a colonial black & white house in Singapore. As a leased property, the challenge was to modernise and uplift without undertaking extensive renovation. The major works involved renovating the old and dated bathrooms, along with building a new attap veranda to provide outdoor dining and seating to one side of the house. We also built a new swimming pool with an outdoor bar. The remaining interior spaces were preserved in their existing condition.
DESIGN
The house has a colonial feel, which we wanted to retain and enhance with the soft furnishings. A layered and eclectic aesthetic reflects the owners’ lifestyle and travels. This was achieved through deploying antique textiles, a collection of vintage art, antique objects; as well as through mixing periods and styles in a comfortable, relaxed manner.
